Lightbulb Moment!
I am so excited to talk about this!
Hello lovely! Welcome—or your new here, welcome! I’ve already been sharing an “Aha” moment over at The WriMo Blog, but there are details I did not share because they pertain to my romance writing. That’s what I will be sharing today, but if you’re interested in checking out that other post, visit the link below:
When I first began writing, I always new that I wanted my published books to have clean and Christian inspired themes. Which is a major reason why I don’t have a lot of books on my publication list. Over the years, I’ve written a lot of different stories, and they were mostly so I could practice and learn to write better. I have reached a point in my writing where I am ready to push forward, but I am going to do so with my original goals in mind.
This said, I am still going to be working on my edits for the first book in The Khrebtova Saga. But any projects that I started in the last five years are getting complete remodeling in the plot department. Especially these two Little Women inspired projects:
I have shared my love for Little Women and Laurie/Teddy a lot over the years. I wrote a short story in 2017-18, Hopelessly Flawed, and express my desire to expand/extend that story. Somewhere along the way, that story was set aside because there were certain obstacles keeping me from diving deeply into the drafting process. But the month of August has been a major shift in mindset and I figured out what those obstacles truly were. And I intend to make my ideas work with the mindset shift, and not against it.
That said, I have referred to this extended version of my short story as Teddy or Project Teddy, knowing that it would never be the official title. As for the other project with Little Women themes, I have not shared very much about it. With good reason. But I will be sharing more in the future as I work look at my writing journey with refreshed eyes.
I will talk more about all of this in coming newsletters. In the meantime, make sure to watch this space!
